|
| Our
Reading Readiness Curriculum, which is based on ten years of research,
assures that "No Child Shall Be Left Behind." Letter Recognition,
Phonological Awareness and Oral Language are the areas of instruction
that will be presented to your child. |
|
| The
following is the rationale behind our Reading Readiness Program: |
|
| 1.
|
Letter
recognition is one of the best predictors of reading success. |
| 2. |
Automatic
recognition of letters gives a strong indication of how quickly a student
will be able to learn the sounds of letters and the shapes of letters. |
| 3. |
The
letter names can facilitate the learning of the letter sounds. For example:
When you say the letter "m," you hear the sound of the letter,
"m" in the name. |
| 4. |
Knowing the sequence of the alphabet can facilitate the learning of the letter names. |
| 5. |
Difficulty
in learning the letter names or the sequence of the alphabet may indicate
a language or learning difference. |
