On-going versus Time-bound groups! We launched our new LIFE Group
ministry at Central Christian Church in February of 2008 utilizing
‘on-going’ but primarily ‘time-bound’ groups. But what exactly are the
benefits of ‘time-bound’ groups?
|
• Clear beginning and ending dates.
• Short-term commitments are easier to make, which eventually
leads to easier long-term commitments.
• It allows for regular Life Group promotions and sign-ups for
participants, as well as leaders.
• It allows for a regular and ongoing excitement building process.
• It is easier to join a group when everyone is beginning together.
• It is easier to secure group leaders and apprentice leaders.
» Training process: I do – you watch; We do together;
You do – I watch & applaud.
• More options for groups since new topics and studies can
be offered with new groups.
• It allows for a stress and release growth cycle for both leaders
and participants as groups can take a timed break.
• It will match the education system calendar. (Groups can choose
to meet over the summer)
|
1) Sunday, February 3 – Saturday, May 17, 2008 (15 weeks); 2) Sunday, September 14 – Saturday, November 22, 2008 (11 weeks). Groups can choose to meet weekly or bi-weekly; some even utilizing a combination of meeting times with scheduled special activities scheduled on weeks when no study is scheduled (game nights; guys/gals night out, etc.). Our next Life Group Training will be on Thursday, July 31 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Hospitality Suite as we prepare for our next group launch in late August and early September. Email Sherri Reinstatler at reinstatlers@ccc.org to join us at this training event.
