What is Parent-Child Dedication? Parent-Child Dedication follows the example set in the Bible of Mary and Joseph bringing Jesus to the temple for His dedication. Luke 2:21-40. Parent-Child Dedication is a time for parents to publicly commit themselves to raise their child in the training and instruction of the Lord. Through this special service, parents announce before God, family, and friends their commitment.
Dedicating your child is not the same as baptism. We believe baptism should occur when an individual is old enough to make that decision. Parent-Child Dedication focuses on the commitment you are making on behalf of your child, with the desire that one day, your child will receive Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.
We do our Parent-Child Dedication Ceremony twice a year. Our next Parent-Child Dedication ceremony is Sunday, April 28 during our 9:30am service. Parents are required to attend a Parent-Child Dedication Class where you will receive information about the importance of dedicating your child to God and the importance of the commitment you are making with God on behalf of your child and your responsibility to raise your child to know, love, and serve the Lord.
