Marriage Mentoring is an exciting new ministry that is having a tremendously positive impact on couples in our church! |
A marriage mentoring relationship, simply, is intentionally established by mutual agreement between a more experienced couple and a less experienced couple for the purpose of helping the less experienced couple.

We want to help these couples in three phases of their marriage relationships.
|
- Preparation - we mentor newly married couples in order to help them ensure success in laying their foundation for a lifetime of commitment to each other.
- Maximizing - this area deals with helping couples go from “good to great,” equipping couples to excel in their marriages, having vision for their marriage, their kids, and their ministry together.
- Repairing –this area works with those couples who are facing marital challenges in some area. Helping couples who are battling stress, addictions, infidelity issues, infertility, loss, and other areas. The best mentors in these areas are those who have experienced similar crises. Examples would include blended families, couples who have lost a child, or couples who have experienced and survived infidelity.

How does the mentoring relationship actually work? Mentoring arrangements are worked out by each Mentoring and Mentoree couple. They decide when they will meet, where they will meet, how often they will meet, and make a commitment to it. The Family Life Ministry office can provide materials and/or curriculum that the couples can work through as part of their time together. This ministry offers great flexibility and the freedom to adjust to circumstances and change plans. Furthermore, the program can be tailored by the Mentoring couple to meet the specific needs of the Mentoree couple.
How often do couples meet? Couples typically meet for an average of 12 to 18 months.
How do I get connected as a Mentor couple? Ongoing trainings take place throughout the year. Contact the Family Life office for a schedule of the next time a training will be happening.
How do I get connected as a Mentoree couple?
