Why should we be concerned with our military as a group today? Because grounded in faith and strengthened in the love of Jesus Christ, they can become witnesses God can use as they are sent out around our Nation and the world.
Galatians 6:2 exhorts us to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way fulfill the law of Christ.” There are times while military members and their families are serving us when circumstances conspire to test their faith and spiritual maturity.
Whether easing the pain of lengthy separations as the service members deploy in harm’s way, the family stresses of redeployment, or the stresses of debilitating financial challenges faced by so many of our younger servicemen, we seek to meet these needs, unite our community and turn challenges into avenues of increased faith.
Ultimately, such demonstrations of the love of Jesus will draw more members of the military and their families residing in Wichita to our church. And as we engage in the lives of those we minister to, they will be strengthen in faith and become more willing and able to take the message to others in need of Jesus Christ.
